Towering Fun!

We have managed to pack a lot into our shortened week once again. On Tuesday we threw ourselves back into our revision programme with renewed energy. The children are now making their own choices as to what they feel they need to revise. In SPAG they requested more practise of the active and passive voice – and in maths work on angles. We also spent time on our writing and up-levelling our work written work on Alma, ready for a final published piece for our writing portfolios.

Away from the classroom we enjoyed getting back to our swimming lessons (always a highlight of the week) On Wednesday we enjoyed the last of the good weather by joining our friends from reception for the golden mile and a BIG game of hide and seek. We also really enjoyed the problem solving session with had with Mr Holland (Forest Schools) We all rose to the challenge of working in teams to build the tallest free standing tower from bamboo canes (no pun intended!). On Friday afternoon we joined Y5 for a very interesting presentation from Friends of the Earth on ‘Plastic Free Schools’. Let’s hope moving forward that we can actually make our school completely plastic free (especially the use of single use plastic water bottles)

2 pieces of homework have been set this week as a follow up to our revision work. English: Active and passive voice. Maths: angles. Please encourage your child to do a little bit every day rather than trying to do it all at once! Get them to complete as much as you think is necessary. Can you also make sure that your children share their finished homework with you before they bring it back on Wednesday next week?

Have a lovely weekend.
