The Adventures of the Naughty Bus
This week has kick-started our new trans-disciplinary theme on Journeys – Transport and Vehicles. The children discovered a beautifully wrapped present had been left in our classroom and we had to predict what might be inside it and who it might be from, they came up with some brilliant ideas.
The children discovered it was the Naughty Bus, they enjoyed seeing all the different places he explored at home and after enjoying the story enjoyed creating their own scenes which we will be using to create our own version of the story. They were also set a Lego Masters Challenge, they enjoyed watching the vehicles and fairgrounds episode before designing and creating their own vehicles as well as making a bridge for a vehicle.
The team have been so impressed with their amazing phonics and great Get Writing as well as their fantastic writing when creating sentences about the Naughty Bus and their reading challenge of labeling the bus.
In Maths the children have worked extremely hard on revisiting their understanding of numbers, sequencing to 20. The children have also explored addition and subtraction too and will be moving on to doubling and halving next week.
A huge thank you to all the adults helping their children learn at home, we couldn’t do it without you. Well done Reception Class we are so proud of how well you’re learning and love seeing your photos and videos.
Have a wonderful weekend.
The EYFS Team.
