Scientific Discovery in Year Three

On Wednesday we made some amazing scientific discoveries using magnets. We know magnets can be used for lots of different things and wanted to know which magnet was the strongest. We created a number of tests to find out. How many paperclips will a magnet hold? Will a magnet work through a piece of paper? If so, how many? Can a magnet lift a small kite and make it hover?

In Maths we have started to look at a written strategy for big multiplication calculations. We still have to use our times tables, but the grid strategy helps with larger numbers.

In English we have finished our troll recipe book and will soon be sending it off to Rachael Lindsey to see if Hildi and Thom would approve.
