Reduce the use of single use plastic…

On Monday, some of the class were invited to an interactive maths day at Bishops High school. They really enjoyed the activities. Starting with a general quiz where Maya and Aine won and received a mini trophy. Next, they completed an orienteering course with maths problems as clues. They also created a village which entailed budgeting and team work. During the afternoon they played a relay maths game where Maya, Aine, Samuel, Seth and Lyra achieved the highest score. Well done Grosvenor Park!

We completed the Shaun the sheep walk in the meadows, this two mile walk was most enjoyable and the children all chatted with a child from a different class.

Today, we entertained parents with our class assembly, this was held at St John church and was focused on Reduce the Use of single use plastic. The children had all made a recycled instrument which they explained how they made, and then demonstrated the sounds, they also read a fact about the effects of plastic waste. They performed two spectacular compositions one with the plastic orchestra and accompanied by rhythmic cups. The second was a song written by Alexander, Finley, Jonathan and Henry. They had composed this as part of the plastics topic, the words were extremely poignant and the tune was dramatic. Well done boys! Well done Year 5 I was very proud of everyone’s effort today.

Home work this week – Reflection and sentence up levelling.

See you all at the Summer Fayre!
