Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair!
Year 1 have had a wonderful start to the term. We have started to read Rapunzel by Bethan Woolvin and have noticed a spell book, a broom and a witch’s hat in the corner of our classroom. The children have been using adjectives to describe how Rapunzel feels in the tower.
Wyatt ” Rapunzel feels anxious and melancholy in the dark, tall tower”.
I have been very impressed with the children’s sentence work this week. We have discussed and used capital letters, full stops and the conjunction ‘and’.
Our topic for this half-term is castles. The children have lots of questions!:
Alana ” Who lives in a castle?”
Owen “Where is Beeston castle?”
Jack ” What are castles made out of?”
The children have enjoyed learning about Paul Klee and were fascinated by his painting ‘Castle and Sun’. We had lots of fun using oil pastels to create our own Castle and Sun picture.
A fantastic week of learning-Well done Year 1!
