Easter Easter Easter…

This week in Year 6…

Easter Easter Easter…

At the beginning of this week we spent some time finding bible passages linked to the story of Easter using our class bibles. We used our research to help us prepare our contribution to the whole school Easter presentation in church on Wednesday afternoon. On Thursday afternoon we had a fantastic time completing the PTFA ‘Bunny Hop’ activity in Grosvenor Park, receiving a chocolaty reward for our efforts – yummy.

Maths
During our Maths lessons this week we have focused on revising our understanding of time – We have also looked at questions involving telling the time using both analogue and digital clocks, measuring time – including work on timetables.  In addition to this we have also completed 2 past papers and 2 mental maths test.

Literacy

During our English sessions this week: We have completed lots written work linked to other subjects including RE and science. – We have also completed the 2016 SATs SPAG paper – we really are showing progress – Well done everyone. Please continue to read regularly with your children at home. See below for the first homework task.

HOMEWORK:

Thank you for supporting your children so well with their Easter holiday homework. Once again I have set the children 3 pieces of homework for the Easter bank holiday weekend. Please could your make sure they complete ALL 3.

HOMEWORK:

  1. Find a quiet place to read. Set yourself the challenge of reading a new book over the 4 day weekend (you can pick a book from the class reading corner – BUT you must bring it back on Tuesday)
  2. Find and eat lots of Easter eggs! (or sweeties)n
  3. Play outside in the sunshine (everyday if possible)

Have a really lovely Easter weekend – the sun is supposed to shine every day
