Descriptive Writing Is Fun
Another action packed week! I don’t know where we find the time to do it all!
In maths we have been learning all about place value by splitting two-digit numbers into tens and ones. Mr. Sparks thought he could catch us out a few times, but we taught him! We have used a lot of the resources in class to help us show numbers in different ways and got to test each other using the resources.
We had a very special guest this week from Mr. Davies and Mr. Clifton from Literacy Counts. They helped us write a really interesting story using some fantastic language. The rest of the week, we have been planning our a story that we are going to write next week. Our plans started with just a picture, then some noun phrases and next we will make them into sentences.
Some of the children in our class were lucky enough to attend the 150th anniversary of the Chester Town Hall. Each class was asked to make a big flower. Our class made outlines of our hands, coloured them in and then wrapped them around a piece of foam. We then attached it to a long stick that Mrs. Broster decorated with green paper. It looks fabulous!
In P.E. this week we have been playing table tennis with Miss. Valentine. It was tricky at first, but after a little bit of practice some of the class did really well. Who knows, maybe there is a future Olympian in Year Two!
