Cycle skills for life

This week Year 5 have successfully completed level 2 cycling experience. The children enjoyed learning how to cycle on the roads safely, looking for hazards and moving around  parked cars. They have learnt how to signal to  drivers of their intentions.

We have been adding money and revising short multiplication 4 digit by 1 digit. This is in preparation for long multiplication next week.

The children have been very creative in making mood boards on their chosen country, they have included facts about the country, how the country recycles and their political stance on reducing single use plastics.

Religious studies

We have been exploring friendships, the children have talked about how Jesus was a good friend. We have read and understood the following:

John 15:12-17

12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.14 You are my friends if you do what I command.15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.17 This is my command: Love each other.

Home work this week is to draft a letter to the Mrs Price about lunch time.

Have a nice weekend
