We have started our new topic ‘Choccywoccydoodah!’ this week. The children have completed KW grids showing what they already know about chocolate and what they want to know about chocolate. They have also designed a new chocolate bar for Willy Wonka!
The children have looked at the features of explanation texts and over the next few weeks they will plan, draft and edit their own explanation text linked to chocolate.
Mrs Bargery is in the process of creating a display linked to the book ‘Charlie and the Chocolate factory’ and is kindly asking if you have any chocolate wrappers could you please bring them in to school. Thank you.
As a class we have worked through a mock SPaG test. The children needed practise with recognising the different sentence types e.g. commands, exclamations, statements and questions. We have also completed daily handwriting, spelling and reading comprehension tasks.
In Maths we have completed two mock arithmetic papers. The children were really confident and enthusiastic! Next week we will focus on division and reasoning papers.
Cerys “I love Maths tests because I find them easy. My favourite questions are the tricky multiplication questions”.
