Beatles fun for year 2!
We had a brilliant time at The Beatles museum in Liverpool on Thursday. The children participated in Beatles-themed activities in the Discovery Zone allowing them to learn about the Beatles’ music, the times they lived in and their influential legacy in a fun, interactive way. Children had the opportunity to compose music on a giant floor piano, listen to records in the 1960s NEMS record store, create Beatles inspired artwork and discover the story of the Beatles on an interactive timeline. It really was a fabulous day!
In Literacy Year 2 have been writing recounts, completing detailed book reviews and reading comprehension tasks. We have also been looking closely at some SPaG mock tests and spent some time revising adverbs and contractions. Year 2 have completed another unit in their handwriting booklets and performed well in the weekly spelling test.
In Maths we have been working with a partner to answer some questions from mock reasoning papers. We found the division questions challenging! I have sent home a ‘SATs survival Year 2 parents’ booklet with information about the reasoning paper today…please spend the next few weeks looking over the questions with your child.
In Music we have perfected our Easter song and we can’t wait to sing it to you during the forthcoming Easter service.
