An Electrifying Week in Year 4

Welcome again to our new Class Blog!

It has been another eventful week in Year 4, featuring highlights such as: our outdoor lesson on Tuesday with Mr Holland from Treemendous Forest Schools, during which we learnt how to plait thread from branches to make both colourful rope and accessories like bracelets; and of course World Book Day, which was a fantastic whole-school event on Thursday.

We also spent time this week learning how to build simple electrical circuits and as part of this, some children were not only successful at managing to connect their circuit correctly and light a bulb, but were also able to sound a buzzer and turn a motor at the same time! In addition, we discussed what a short circuit was (I’m sure I’m not the only one who remembers the film coming out!) and how it can be avoided. The science part of this week’s homework links to this new learning in order to help review and extend the children’s skills.

Various school sporting events are also coming up in the calendar soon; keep a look out on Twitter for any related news including our wonderful new GPA sports kit!

See you all next week,

Mr Lee
