A Poetic Week in Year 4

As a final English activity of the half term, we have been looking at poetry, particularly kennings and cinquains, which are two very enjoyable types of poem for any budding poet to read or write. See if you can solve any of those in the collage above! The clue is: Easter nouns. The children also performed their poems to the rest of the class; it has been brilliant to see their growing confidence speaking in front of an audience.

Holiday homework will be given out on Friday and includes the lyrics to the song which we will be performing after the Spring Break. They do know some of this song already but need to learn the lyrics to it all, so please request a performance each day at home to help them practise even more! With regards to homework – well done overall to the huge number of children now completing and returning it. This is superb to see.

Please note that soon a message will be sent via eeZeeTrip with initial details of the forthcoming Year 4 residential trip in July. Once you receive the message, I would be very grateful if you could confirm your interest in the trip so that I may begin to plan for the approximate number of children attending.

Have a wonderful Spring Break Year 4. Make sure you get plenty of rest for what looks to be a fantastic Summer Term ahead.

Best wishes,

Mr Lee
