A night in the Museum for Year 2…

Year 2 have been so excited about their residential trip to the Grosvenor museum today. This is such a fantastic experience for the children. Keep an eye on twitter for regular updates!

Alex “I am so happy today because I am going to a museum for a sleepover. I can’t wait to learn there and eat pizza!”

In Literacy we have been writing senses and shape poems about spring. The children have revised adjectives, expanded noun phrases and similes and have been learning how to write alliterative sentences. The children have also completed a reading comprehension test. I have been so impressed with their creative writing this week. Well done Year 2!

In Maths we have been working together to answer questions from arithmetic papers. The children are becoming increasingly confident with number work and are able to use a variety of strategies to answer a given question. Next week our attention will turn to the reasoning papers.

In music we have learnt the musical term crescendo and have been learning how to play the recorder piano and forte. We have also learnt a new note E. The children have been practising our Easter song and have been singing thinking carefully about dynamics.

There will be no homework this week due to the residential. I will be sending home homework next week for the spring break.
