A cracking time in Reception!
Firstly, I would like to congratulate all the children in Reception Class on a great Easter performance! We are all really proud of your Easter egg hunt story telling and how you sat beautifully in church watching the other classes perform as well. Let’s hope that you find your Easter egg hunts a bit less stressful and don’t encounter any lambs, chicks, bees or foxes!
This week the children have enjoyed lots of Easter activities including a Maths problem solving Easter egg hunt, designing Easter eggs, making crispy cakes and acting out the Easter story. On Thursday we carried out an investigation to see which material is the best packaging to keep a chocolate egg safe! We discussed which materials we would like to test before predicting which ones would help keep the egg whole. It was very eggciting dropping the eggs covered in different materials! Please ask the children to see which materials kept the eggs safest!
On Thursday morning the children and staff had great fun taking part in the bunny hop. All the children had the opportunity to hop around an obstacle course built especially for us. Thank you to the PTA for organising another brilliant event.
We are all really impressed with the effort that you have gone to with the children’s creature habitat homework. They have loved showing their habitat’s to the rest of the class. The habitats have already supported some great discussions about different creatures and environments. All your support is greatly appreciated!
We hope you all have an eggcellent Easter weekend.
