Slushy Slushies!

Greetings All,

Welcome back to our weekly blog. Will you spot this week’s secret word? Won’t you? Oh let’s see! Lots of people did last week and will soon be receiving House Points for doing so.

This week, we have been as busy as ever. In English, our feline tale is drawing to a climax as our hero Varjak is having to fend for himself in the dangerous, dark city of the Outside. Children have been planning and writing their own adventure stories based on this plot and I am SO excited to read them all once they’re finished!

In maths, we have been polishing up our Roman numeral skills, which has made me feel C% better about this maths topic. Next, we will be moving on to perimeter and area in more detail.

In science, we have continued our learning about the states of matter and this week looked at melting in more detail. As part of the lesson, we considered what might speed up and slow down the melting process and then experimented with some melting of our own and made some delicious, slushy slushies (SLURP)!

Sports Update: You will be aware from eeZeeTrip that the Year 4 football friendly has been postponed; we very much look forward to the new match date as arranged. This week it was more sporting success at GPA, with Year 2 at the NWAT Tag Rugby tournament and Reception at the Mini Kickers football. Year 5 have a busy week next week with football and handball. Please keep checking Twitter for all the school’s sporting news and results!!

Thank you and have a super weekend,

Mr Lee
